Tragedy has struck my Vintage Knee Socks. I stupidly tossed them into the washing machine along with all my other hand knit socks forgetting that these were not made with super wash wool. Felted, they felted...I almost cried when I realized what happened.

After...mid-calf and a bit tight at that.

The design is almost completely lost due to the felting.

However the heels are extra sturdy now, so that's a plus.

However I can still get them on and they are wearable, so it's not a total loss. This is the first time this has ever happened to me. I've never accidentally felted a hand knit before so I guess I was due.

They're so still pretty. I think they're going to be "going to the snow" socks now that they're felted.
